Aulani’s Aunty’s Beach House – AKA The Kids Club

Published by

If your family is heading to Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, you’ll want to plan ahead for one of its most beloved experiences, Aunty’s Beach House. This kids’ club is more than just childcare. It’s an imaginative Hawaiian home where keiki (ages 4–12, fully potty-trained) can dive into crafts, storytelling, and Disney-style play while parents enjoy a bit of relaxation time. Like all things Disney, there’s a learning curve, though, to get the most out of it.

What is Aunty’s beach House?

Aunty’s Beach House is a secure, themed play space designed for creativity, exploration, and connection. Kids can enjoy interactive games, cultural activities, character encounters, and imaginative storytelling inspired by the islands.

  • Ages: 4–12 (must be potty-trained)
  • Cost: Complimentary 90-minute sessions, plus optional Premium experiences for an extra fee
  • Hours: Generally 9:30 a.m.–9:00 p.m. (with an “open house” morning session where parents may explore with their kids)
  • FYI- There are no pool activities associated with Aunty’s. Some of the premium activities are on the beach, but nothing requiring swimming.

Registration opens 2–90 days before your stay, and you’ll book specific activity time slots separately. Complimentary sessions book fast, so set a reminder for your registration window.

Booking Tips

Plan Around Meals & Pool time: Schedule drop-offs and pick-ups with a buffer around dining or spa reservations. Also, remember you want to send your kid dry.

Register Early: I do recommend you knock out registration early, as there’s no benefit to waiting and the user experience can be frustrating. While the resort is great at so many things, the technology experience is not one of them. Click here to register.

Reserve Sessions Promptly: Complimentary 90-minute experiences often fill up weeks in advance. Premium sessions are longer and may include character visits or themed crafts. Your friendly travel advisor will let you know when the window’s about to open. You’ll book on the same site that other activities on the resort use.

Watch the Daily ’IWA: The resort’s Daily ’IWA activity schedule lists every kids’, teen, and adult program for the day — perfect for syncing your plans. You’ll definitely use this, as this is how you find the characters, as well.

Be Flexible: If a session is full, check for same-day cancellations or standby openings. This is one area that day-of openings are usually plentiful, but not guaranteed.

What Activities Are Inside

Aunty’s is divided into themed rooms that balance structured play and downtime. Inside, you’ll find spaces for crafts, movies, storytelling, and — yes — video games.

Personal Note: My son, who’s a big fan of video games, immediately found the game area and loved it. But what impressed me most was how quickly the counselors engaged him in other experiences too, the ones I wanted him on- hands-on crafts, storytelling, and outdoor games that he ended up enjoying even more.

The staff are pros at striking that balance between free choice and guided activity, ensuring every child finds their comfort zone while still discovering something new.

Also, note that Aunty’s is not where you’ll have character experiences. Here’s what those look like for a sample morning at Aulani.

Aunty’s Keiki Band

Just like the kids club on a Disney Cruise, trackers are attached to kids for safety. Unlike Disney Cruise Line, as of right now at least, the Magic Band+ won’t cut it. Parents often ask if kids can use their Disney MagicBand+ at Aulani. The answer: not for Aunty’s Beach House check-in or tracking. Don’t leave the MagicBand at home, though, as there are still a lot of cool things on property that do use them.

Aunty’s provides the keiki band during your child’s first check-in. It works similarly to a MagicBand in function but is specific to their secure system. Return it in good condition at the end of your trip to receive your deposit back.

Final Tips for Parents

  • Book early. Complimentary sessions are limited and disappear quickly.
  • Try a Premium session if you can’t snag a free one — they’re longer and often include character visits.
  • Expect balance. Even game-loving kids will end up painting, dancing, or exploring Hawaiian culture.
  • Return your keiki band at the end of your stay to get your refund.
  • Use Aunty’s time wisely. Plan a quiet pool hour, spa visit, or adult dinner while your child is having fun.

For parents, Aunty’s provides peace of mind and a rare opportunity to enjoy the resort (which does have adult’s only sections) knowing your child is not just supervised, but truly engaged.
